Reservoir Characterization using 3D 4C OBC Seismic Dataset in Sepat Field, Malay Basin, A First in PCSB

A large number of oil and gas fields in the Peninsular Malaysia Basin are masked by shallow gas, including S field. Conventional streamer seismic acquisition and processing resulted in poor seismic imaging due to amplitude and frequency attenuation (dynamic) and travel time delay or sag (kinematic) effects. Such undesired effects lead to significant uncertainties in structural and stratigraphic mapping of reservoirs below the shallow gas area, and consequently the hydrocarbon resource assessment of these fields.
