NLO Corrections to Production of Heavy Particles at Hadron Colliders

We study specific aspects of the production of heavy particles at hadron colliders, with emphasis on precise predictions. Firstly, we consider the top quark charge asymmetry and we discuss in detail the calculation and the phenomenological impact of electroweak corrections. Secondly, we consider the combined production and decay of pairs of scalar quarks at the LHC. We discuss the calculation of NLO QCD corrections and their impact on predictions for specific experimental signatures.
