A Similar Safety Systematics Model for Accident Cases Data Mining Support

Abstract In this paper, a similar safety systematics model for accident cases data mining is developed. It consists two components which are similar units analysis and similarity degree evaluation. In addition, data mining process through similar safety systematics model has been discussed and verified through two similar fire and explosion accident cases. The advantages of this model lie in three aspects: enabling qualitative and quantitative data collecting about different accidents cases; helping abstract the essence of similar accidents in multi-level and multi-characteristics. Moreover, the similar safety systematics model developed in this study provides a new method to analyze and learn from similar accidents cases with data mining.
