Temperature dependent thermal and impedance response of NiO/Fe2O3 composite and compound nanoparticles

2019
Abstract Nickel-Iron oxide compound, ((NiO) 0.50 (Fe 2 O 3 ) 0.50 ) and composite, (0.5NiO/0.5Fe 2 O 3 ) were synthesized by using Without Water and Surfactant (WOWS) sol-gel method. Synthesized powders were calcined at 500 °C for 2 h and pellets were sintered at 550 °C for 1 h. X-ray diffraction confirm cubic and rhombohedral phases for compound and composite samples, respectively. Transmission electron microscope (TEM) and Scanning electron microscope (SEM) were used to study the morphology and shape of both the samples. Thermogravimetric analysis and Differential thermal analysis was done to analyze the weight changes and energy changes as a function of temperature, respectively. The dielectric constant and ac conductivity were measured as a function of temperature (30–500 °C) at fixed frequency. Impedance was measured as a function of frequency (20 Hz-3MHz) and temperature (30–500 °C) at fixed frequency. I-V characterization at different temperatures was done to study the electrical behavior of samples. Ni/Fe oxide composite showed low impedance as compared to the compound.
