2002
We studied the tooth development in the Mouse-eared Bat (Myotis myotis) during the prenatal (approximately 70 days) and the early postnatal period of development, from bud stage to eruption of deciduous teeth. The formulaof the deciduous dentition is Id/2/3, Cd/1/1, Pd/3/3, of the permanent one I/2/3, C/1/1, P/3/3, M/3/3. Dental buds of the deciduous dentition are present at the 38 t h day of ontogeny, buds of permanent teeth at the 43 r d day of ontogeny. Eruption of deciduous and permanent teeth is completed by the 1" and the 35 t h day post partum, respectively.
