Analytic Hierarchy Process of Academic Scholars for Promoting Energy Saving and Carbon Reduction in Taiwan

Abstract This study adopted analytical hierarchy process (AHP) to evaluate the significance of the criterion of social education (SE) regarding promoting energy saving and carbon reduction (ESCR), taking the points of view of scholars from universities and research institutes into consideration. The analytical results of the study are as follows. Regarding the hierarchy of evaluation criteria, on the whole, the academic experts suggest that the most important major criteria are in the following order: positive actions of the government, implementation of education and propaganda activities, support from SE units, and integration with social resources.
