Production of zeolite based on silica and, optionally oxide of tetravalent element

1991
PURPOSE: To attain good control of crystallization and to increase crystallization rate by preparing an aq. mixture contg. a silicon source in a complex form, optionally, a tetravalent element source in a complex form, a modifier which generates hydroxyl ions by hydrothermal decomposition and a structuring agent which instructs and stabilizes the formation of the objective zeolite, heating the aq. mixture under specified conditions and firing the resultant precipitate. CONSTITUTION: An aq. mixture contg. a silicon source in the form of an M 2/n SiF 6 complex (I) [M is a proton, an alkali (alkaline earth) metal ion, a transition metal ion, an NH 4 ion or a quat. NH 4 ion], optionally, a tetravalent element source in the form of an M 2/n T'F 6 complex (II) (M is the same as M in the complex I and T' is Ti, Ge, Zr and/or Sn), a modifier (Mod) and a structuring agent (Str) in an Mad to SiF 2 2- molar ratio of 0.25-8.0 and an Str to SiF 6 2- molar ration of 0.04-3.0 is prepd., adjusted to pH0-6.5 and heated to ≥120°C to form a precipitate. This precipitate is fired at ≥450°C. COPYRIGHT: (C)1994,JPO
