Study on Shear Strength Evaluation Method of Headed Stud Connector for Using High-depth Steel Deck

2011
Headed stud connector is used in composite girder to join steel girder with concrete slab in condition that the depth of steel deck is less than 75mm. In recent years, the high-depth steel deck has been proposed to raise rigidity of girder and to be span of sub-beam wide for the warehouse and large shopping mall, and so on. The aim of this study is to examine whether high-depth steel deck is applicable to Architectural Institute of Japan (AIJ) Specification in 1985, and American Institute of Steel Construction (AISC) Specification in 2005. For this purpose, 43 push-out tests were performed using the steel deck of depth of 120mm. As the result of these tests, it was elucidated that AIJ specification takes safety rate too much; on the other hand, AISC Specification is comparatively corresponding to the values obtained in these tests well. Moreover, push-out test results from other clarify the same thing can be said when almost of steel decks’ depth were used 50mm.
