Polyester filament fabrics for air bags

PURPOSE:To provide a non-coated woven polyester filament cloth for air bag, free from calendering treatment and having excellent maintenance of air- permeability and burst strength after the storage in dry or humid state at a high temperature for a long period. CONSTITUTION:The objective non-coated and non-calendered woven polyester cloth for air bag is composed of polyester multifilament yarns constituting the warps as well as wefts. The maximum thermal stress of the yarn measured by heating a yarn specimen of 50mm long from the room temperature to the melting point of the yarn under initial load of 0.08g/de at a heating rate of 150 deg.C/min is <=0.8g/de and the maximum thermal shrinkage of the yarn determined under the same heating condition is <=25%. The intrinsic viscosity of the yarn determined in o-chlorophenol at 25 deg.C at a concentration of 1.2g/100ml is 0.80-0.95dl/g and the terminal carboxyl group content is 5-35eq/ton.
