Endovascular Treatment of a MRSA Infected Left External Iliac Artery Pseudoaneurysm

2004
Infected aneurysms and pseudoaneurysms pose a therapeutic conundrum. Conventional practice avoids the placement of foreign material in infected sites, however, there are reports of the use of endovascular stent-grafts in this situation. We describe the successful immediate and 1 year outcome of emergency endovascular stent-grafting of a methicillin resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) infected pseudoaneurysm.
