New Zealand bodyfillers: Discrimination using IR spectroscopy, visible microspectrophotometry, density and SEM-EDAX
1986
Abstract The 37 different formulations of bodyfiller available in New Zealand were surveyed using SEM-EDAX, visible microspectrophotometry, infrared spectroscopy and density. The data were treated according to the method of Smalldon and Brown [1]. SEM-EDAX was found to be the most discriminating technique. A consideration of variation between batches was made. It was concluded that the large variations between batches makes an identification of the make of bodyfiller impractical.
