The expression of HIF-1 α in the tissues of gastric cancer and their clinical value

2006
Objective: To study the expression of HIF-1α(Hypoxia-inducible factor-lα) in the tissues of gastric cancer and it's clinical value. Methods:Cases patients with gastric cancer. 20 cases were collected with gastric ulcer and 20 normal tissues were selected as control group. The expression of HIF-1α in the tissues of the gastric cancer, the gastric ulcer and the normal control group were examined with the SP method of the immunological histochemistry. Results: The positive HIF-1α expression rate in the tissues of the gastric cancer was 66.7(%40/60), while there were no expressions in the other two groups. There were statistically significance in these group(sP0.01). The expression rate of the HIF-1α in the gastric cancer with Stage I + II were 45.0%, and in Stage III +IV were 77.5%. There were statistically significance (P0.05).The HIF-1α were significantly correlated with the infiltration depth, the lymph node metastasis and remote metastasis, and there were no correlation with the pathology and the lesion size of the tumor. Conclusion:The HIF-lα is found to be highly expressed in the tissues of the gastric cancer, and the expression of the HIF- lα correlated with the clinical pathological staging,。
