Analysis of the Shear Test Method For Asphalt Mixture

The lack of anti-shear properties of asphalt pavement leading to early diseases such as rutting,the selection of shear test methods and performance evaluation is particularly important. Coaxial shear,triaxial shear tests and the uniaxial penetration test are used to compare the performance of these asphalt mixture shear test methods in this paper. It can be found that the raw of coaxial shear,triaxial shear tests and the uniaxial penetration test results is uniform,evaluation results are similar,and all these tests can be used as the performance of asphalt mixture shear test method. In no condition to conduct the triaxial shear test,the coaxial shear and uniaxial penetration test method can also be used to measure the anti- shear properties of asphalt mixtures.
