Study of real-time ultrasonography in diagnosing of infantile hypertrophic pyloric stenosis

Objective: To investigate the characteristic imaging and diagnostic value of infantile hypertrophic pyloric stenosis by real-time ultrasonography.Methods: Fifteen real-time ultrasonography performed for possible infantile hypertrophic pyloric stenosis(IHPS) were analyzed retrospectively.All of diagnosis were confirmed by operation.Results: All cases showed the typically imaging,the thickness of pyloric muscle ≥4 mm,the length of canalus pyhoricus ≥18 mm,the thickness of canalus pyloricus ≥15 mm.Conclusion: Real-time ultrasonography is a simple and reliable method for the diagnosis of IHPS and should be the initial imaging procedure.
