Integration goes beyond language acquisition and labor market participation. In the current discussions on integration, the topic of values (including what religion means for individuals) is receiving an increasing amount of attention. This commentary explores this topic, along with other elements relating to integration, such as the differences within groups that must be considered even when working with aggregate data, the effects of temporariness of residence titles, the need for comparative longitudinal analysis when analyzing outcomes of citizenship, and dispersal mechanisms for settling refugees.JEL Codes: F22, J08, J15, J18, K37, R23.
