Component with phase-locked loop with: a frequency divider (310) for dividing the frequency of an output signal of the device with a phase-locked loop by a frequency division factor (P, P + 1), wherein the frequency divider is operable in at least two modes, wherein each mode is associated with a different frequency division factor; an accumulator (300), which is connected to the frequency divider for supplying a mode switching signal to the frequency divider, said accumulator stores an accumulator (A), and a dividing unit (320) which is connected to the frequency divider to divide the frequency of the frequency divider output signal by a fixed division factor (N), characterized, in that the accumulator is adapted to update the accumulator value using a modulo repeated to generate the mode switching signal, the accumulator is further adapted to process the modulo function in response to a received meter module Opara, and the fixed division factor (N) is equal to the received modulo parameters.
