Two Cases of Thoracic Intradural Arachnoid Cyst

1992
Although spinal arachnoid cyst is an uncommon disorder, early diagnosis is important to prevent future spinal cord dysfunction. We report 2 cases of intradural thoracic arachnoid cyst in a 39 year-old male and a 40 year-old female. Both showed thoracic spinal cord dysfunction and MRI was very useful in the diagnosis of the cysts. Laminectomy and cyst resection were performed, with decompression of the spinal cord comfirmed by intraoperative ultrasonography. Both cases showed gradual functional recovery postoperatively.
