Influence of Batocera horsfieldi on Wood Quality of Five-year-old Populus deltoides × P.nigra cv.Chile

An experiment was conducted on the influence of Batocera horsfieldi on the wood properties of five-year-old Populus deltoides × P.nigra cv.Chile,and a comparative analysis was made on the wood qualities of healthy wood and damaged wood at different degrees.B.horsfieldi would result in the increase of live wood.The moisture content of damaged wood relatively increased by 11.89%.Extractive content between damaged and healthy wood showed difference,whose relative value reached to 27.29%.There also were differences in wood basic density,complete-dry density,dry shrinks and wet swelling.There was a significant difference in fiber length between healthy and damaged wood.And their relative difference value was 8.32%.
