The Analysis of the Reactive Launch of Three-stage Synchronous Generator for Aviation Starter-Generator Device

Modern trends in the aviation industry are aimed toward modernizing onboard equipment and replacing mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems by electrical systems. Along with the increase in the level of electrification, there is an urgent need to increase the energy efficiency of existing electrical equipment of the aircraft. One of the criteria for the efficiency of the onboard equipment of the aircraft is multipurpose use of the onboard components and assemblies. Within this criterion, it seems appropriate to integrate the starter and the generator of the auxiliary power unit into one unit. The article presents an analytical calculation and simulation modeling of the start of a gas turbine engine using a three-stage synchronous generator, using the method of reactive launch.
