Análisis y categorización de los datos abiertos de las bibliotecas municipales españolas: metadatos, interoperabilidad y propuesta para la apertura y reutilización

2017
The current situation of open data at local public libraries in Spain is analyzed as a part of public sector information. This article extracts information from data portals at the city level that include datasets produced by public libraries. These datasets are categorized by type of data (offer/demand of services and infrastructures). Three libraries that expose datasets about activities (A Coruna, Madrid and Las Palmas) are selected in order to compare properties, attributes, and metadata used to describe these datasets, analyzing their potential interoperability from the mapping of applicable existing vocabularies. This article also proposes a prioritization of the publication of more interoperable datasets and a brief initial review of the legal and regulatory context for the opening of public sector data in Spain.
