Research on Vessel Transit Capacity of Cross Area Channel Based on Single Vacation M/G/1 Model

2010
Problem of inland vessel transit capacity of cross area channel is addressed. A new approach based on single vacation M/G/1 queuing theory is presented to overcome the conventional ways like M/G/1 queuing theory which is not applicable to the proposed problem. Vessel arrival rule model, queuing rule and service rule model of cross area channel are well studied through single vacation M/G/1 model. The algorithm is tested in someone cross area channel. Simulation results show that as one vessel pass through inland cross area channel needs much more time giving rise to much more vessels have to wait to pass through cross area channel, the queuing length is much longer; the vessel transit capacity of cross area channel would come to dynamic equilibrium when the queue length falls in the acceptable length.
