Pathogenicity of several fungi isolated from symptomatic fruit of core rot of Japanese pear

2006
Causal agent of fruit core rot of Japanese pear has not been known. Present study demonstrated that several fungi isolated from the symptomatic fruit had pathogenicity to Japanese pear and may associate to development of the symptom. The pathogenicity varied among the fungal speices in a inoculation test and severer rots were appeared on the fruit in Phomopsis sp. and Dothiorella sp. than in Alternaria sp., Fusarium sp., Colletotricum sp. and Botrytis sp..
