Synthesis of Unprotected Carboxy Indazoles via Pd-Catalyzed Carbonylation

Abstract The first published synthesis of unprotected carboxy indazoles from the corresponding bromoindazoles is described. This is achieved via Pd(II)-catalyzed carbonylation and is demonstrated to work on a variety of indazoles.
