Introduction: Oxytocin and misoprostol are used to initiate labor. Sometimes these medicines can cause complications to the baby and to the baby. The purpose of this study was to determine the combined effect of vaginal misoprostol and intravenous oxytocin on fetal-neonatal outcomes in women with first pregnancy referred to Shahid Sadoughi Hospital in Isfahan, Iran.Materials and Methods: This clinical trial study was performed on 102 pregnant mothers in Isfahan Shahid Sadoughi Hospital in Isfahan, Iran. The study units were randomly divided into two groups (each group 51) of oxytocin induction with vaginal misoprostol and oxytocin alone. Finally, fetal heart rate decline during labor and delivery, Apgar score of one and five minutes, presence of meconium, neonatal admission to ICU were evaluated.
