In vivo study : Influence of polyacrylic anticellulite gels on hydration and pH-value of the skin

2000
The effect on hydration and pH-value of the skin has been investigated on 22 female subjects during the thirty-day treatment. The following formulations have been tested: polyacrylic gel with 2% of caffeine, polyacrylic gel with propylene-glycol plant extract of Ivy - 2%, Horse Chestnut - 2%, Seaweed - 1.5%, as well as polyacrylic gel with caffeine and above-mentioned plant extracts. The average values of skin hydration have been increasing gradually during the application of tested formulations with statistically significant increase upon the treatment in regard to start values (p<0.001). pH-values of the skin have been oscillating slightly during the experimental period, and after the treatment were close to the initial values.
