Experimental performance analysis of software-defined network switch and controller

In this paper the performance estimation of SDN switch and controller is considered. Benchmarking the SDN switch is conducted and proved that non virtualized switch characterized by higher performance, while virtualized switch. After benchmarking the SDN controllers is proved that it is impossible to achieve a significant increase in performance, only by increasing the computing power. Therefore, it is advisable to use one or two dedicated servers with special software that performs load balancing. Based on the obtained results, a SDN model is developed. This model allows to reproduce the main characteristics of the performance of SDN switches and controllers.
