The aim of his theoretical paper is to make a discussion about children, childhood and education according to the Sociology of Childhood and Popular Education views and also to understand if their discussions are applied in the childhood education. For guidance, this search will be made a literature review in texts of the Sociology of Childhood (Sarmento, 2004, 2005; Corsaro, 1997, 2005) and Popular Education, especially of Critical Pedagogy of Freire (1983 and 1991). After reading these references, it's possible to understand that the goal of children's education is to contribute to the formation happens in a critical, humanizing and dialogical perspective in order to help children become creative citizens able to produce culture and their childhoods can be experienced as experiences that promote autonomy, hope and transformation of the world.
