Crosslinked, nitrogen-containing vinyl copolymer, its preparation and use

1993
PURPOSE: To obtain nitrogen-contg. vinyl copolymers having a property of strongly combining with bile acid according to the concn. by having units represented by a specified formula. CONSTITUTION: The copolymers are crosslinked, nitrogen-contg. vinyl copolymers having units of formula I [where (w) is 0.1-0.98; (x) is 0.0-0.8; (y) is 0.0-0.3; (z) is 0.0-0.6 and w+x+y+z=1, and only when y≠0, x=0, only when x≠0, z≠0 and R=R 4 , y=0; A1 is a hydrolysis tolerable group of formula II (R 5 is a 3-18C alkoxy, 5-8C cycloalkyl or the like) or a group of formula III (R 6 is a 1-18C alkyl; R 7 is H or, when R 6 is a 1-6C alkyl, a hydrolysis tolerable group of a 1-6C alkyl) or the like; A2 is a group of a hydrolysis tolerative crosslinking agent or a group of formula V or the like; R is a group of R 1 -X, R 2 -X or the like, wherein R 1 is a 3-21C branched chain alkyl, alkenyl up to 21C or the like; X is a single bond, crosslinked group or spacer; R 2 is a hydrophilic or amphiphilic substd. group of formula VI, formula VII ((a) is 2-16; (b) is 0-3; A is a physiologically acceptable anion) or the like] or a physiologically acceptable salt.
