Search for delayed fission of nuclei formed in absorption of slow. pi. /sup -/ mesons by /sup 232/Th and /sup 238/U

We report the results of a search for delayed fission in the reaction products of capture of negative pions by the nuclei /sup 232/Th and /sup 238/U. An upper limit of the yield for the expected effect in various time ranges is determined.
