Pulmonary Aspergilloma: A Treatment Challenge in Sub-

In April 2011, a 68-year-old man pre-sented himself at our research clinic in ruralTanzania with a three-month persistentproductive cough, chest pain, night sweats,and recurrent nonmassive haemoptysis. Hedenied fever, night sweats, weight loss, andany recent contact with a known tuberculo-sis case. A prior treatment with a broad-spectrum antibiotic had not been successful.The patient reported having been treatedfor tuberculosis,diagnosedbysputum smearten years ago. On examination he wasafebrile, in a reduced general condition witha body mass index of 17.1 kg/m
