In April 2011, a 68-year-old man pre-sented himself at our research clinic in ruralTanzania with a three-month persistentproductive cough, chest pain, night sweats,and recurrent nonmassive haemoptysis. Hedenied fever, night sweats, weight loss, andany recent contact with a known tuberculo-sis case.
