A further investigation of the time dependence on the Ariel 4 ambient electron densities

1990
Ambient electron density measurements made by the radio frequency capacitance probe on Ariel 4 satellite have been further analyzed in order to study the magnetic local time dependence of the data at middle and high latitudes for a magnetic quite (Kp≤2+) period during 1971 winter; data obtained on 94 days centered on the December 1971 solstice. The results of the analysis demonstrated that the relative position of the Sun with respect to magnetic coordinates accelerates or decelerates the mechanisms controlling the redistribution of electron densities.
