Waterborne E10p Modified Acrylic Resin and its Application in Coil Coating

A series of waterborne acrylic resins were synthesized by using E10p(glycidylester of versatic acid),acrylic monomers,and applied to coil coatings.It was of benefit to the resin stability and film performance,when E10p was charged into the system with the mixed monomers togeter.It was found that E10p dosage would affect the performances of the resin and film.The Mnand Mwdecreased with the increase of the dosage of E10p.Because of the umbrella-shaped structure of E10p,the hydrophobicity of the film could be improved with the increase of E10p amount,thus enhancing the resistance to acid,alkali and artificial aging.
