EFFECTS OF As_2O_3 COMBINED WITH KUSHEN COMPOUND PREPARATION ON HUMAN LUNG CANCER CELL LINES

Objective:To study the activity of As 2O 3 and its synergistic effect with Kushen compound preparation on human lung adenocarcinoma cell line SPC A 1.Methods:The cytotoxic effects of these agents on human lung cancer cell line SPC A 1 were measured by a tetrazolium based volorimetric assay (MTT assay).Rusults:As 2O 3 can inhibit the growth of SPC A 1 cell,the maxmum inhibitory rates were 95 %.The inhibitory rates of the low dose cytokines(1 μg/mL,0.4 μg/mL)combined with Kushen compound preparation were higher than that of As 2O 3 alone.Conclusion:The results indicate that As 2O 3 has a direct inhibitory effect on SPC A 1 cell.As 2O 3 combined with Kushen compound preparation shows significant synergistic anti tumor effect on SPC A 1 cell.These might provide experimental evidence for lung cancer therapy.
