CO2 reduction potential through non-conventional energy sources in India

1995
India will require increasingly higher energy inputs for future industrial and economic development. Overall growth of energy consumption will result in substantially higher emissions of CO2. We present emission rates of CO2 based on India's actual fuel consumption. It is estimated that use of non-conventional energy sources could reduce India's energy-related CO2 emissions by 11.8% below 1988–1989 levels by the year 2005–2006.
