Cadaveric canine femur fractures and their stabilization with tie-in configuration technique: an ideal training model.

2010
The purpose of the present study was to explore the feasibility of tie-in configuration technique when applied to the canine femur. The research was conducted on cadaveric femoral models of dogs. The objectives of this experimentation were to standardize the technique of tie-in configuration and also to give hands on practice to the surgeon. Further, a small scale biomechanical study was conducted which demonstrated the utility of the system in resisting the different fracture forces.
