Correlation of internal stress and power loss with domain motion in strip wound magnetic cores

1994
Abstract An investigation into the correlation between stress induced by adhesive bonding in wound cores and the effect on the domain structure is presented. Increases in power loss of up to 70% at a flux density of 1.7 T, 50 Hz are found in toroids after the application of adhesive. Investigations on dynamic domain motion showed that the amount of wall bowing was almost doubled at an overall flux density of 1.0 T, 50 Hz under the influence of the stress induced by the adhesive.
