Series compensation position determining method

The embodiment of the invention discloses a series compensation position determining method. The method comprises the steps that resistance values of all branches on a power distribution line are obtained, compensation capacity values of all the branches are calculated according to the resistance values and compared, the largest compensation capacity value is selected out, and the branch where the largest compensation capacity value is located serves as a series compensation position. According to method in the scheme, the position of the maximum compensation capacitance on the whole power distribution line can be determined so that it can be ensured that the rising amplitude of the voltage generated by the compensated circuit is the maximum, the compensation effect is the most obvious, and the problem that at present, only one third to a half of the line is selected as a compensation position, and consequently the practical compensation requirement of the line cannot be met is solved.
