Determinación de filtraciones de una relavera utilizando técnicas isotópicas, La Libertad

The presence of unwanted elements in the sub-drainage downstream of the sludge did suspect that the presence of ground water contamination could come from in formal mining located upstream of the mine. The present study aims to investigate by isotope techniques, interconnection between water tailings and sub-drainage water from the sludge using tritium as a radiotracer. It was determined that the main contribution of pollution downstream of the sub-drainage to the stream comes from the sludge, indicating that there is interconnection between tailings waters and sub-drain age water located in the creek downstream.
