Isolation of a 4.6 S-postalbumin from Human Serum

BY means of starch-gel electrophoresis the α1-glyco-protein (easily precipitable)1, the (Gc-globulins2,3, the α2-HS-glycoprotein4 and α1X-globulin5 could be classified as postalbumins6. Recently in the course of our work concerning the preparation of (Gc-globulin we obtained evidence for a further postalbumin. The isolation of this hitherto unknown human serum protein was accomplished according to the scheme in Fig. 1. As starting material we used the albumin containing fraction of the rivanol fractionation procedure7.
