Slope parameter and the real part of the p--n elastic scattering amplitude in the energy range of 10 to 70 GeV

1973
Basing on experiments investigating the elastic pd and pp small angle scatterings, carried out at the Serpukhov accelerator in the energy range 10 to 70 GeV, the slope parameter for the pn-scatte ing differential cross section and alpha (the ratio of the real to imaginary part for the forward pn-scattering amplitude) are determined in framework of the Glauber model. The quantities for the pn scattering are shown to be close to those for the pp scattering: the slope parameter increases with the energy, alpha is negative and its modulus decreases in accordance with the predictions of the dispersion relations.
