Using spectral methods of analysis it was shown that the main product of interaction C 60 with radical intermediates of cumene oxidation is the bisperoxide C 60(OOC(CH 3) 2Ph) 2. Thus, the mechanism of inhibitory action of fullerenes on the processes of liquid-phase oxidation of hydrocarbons is established. In addition, the gasometric method was used to determine effective inhibition rate constants of oxidating cumene and ethylbenzene.
