Isolation and purification of Oroxylum indicum chemical constituents: A review

O. indicum is a beneficial plant which offers a great therapeutic value in traditional medicinal practice. It has been demonstrated by recent researches that this plant have anti-cancer, anti-inflammatory and anti-microbial effects. Modern phytochemistry and pharmacological experiments revealed that baicalein, chrysin and oroxylin A were the major constituents isolated from this plant. This present review purposely done to summarize previous and current references regarding the separation and isolation techniques involved in the production of pure compounds from O. indicum extract.
