INVESTIGAÇÃO DO REAPROVEITAMENTO DE RESÍDUOS ORGÂNICOS PARA A PRODUÇÃO DE PRODUTOS DERMATOLÓGICOS

2021
The increase in the search for a healthier lifestyle and in balance with the environment has led to the development of cosmetic products that, in their formulations, use vegetable products as raw material, seeking the enhancement of natural ingredients. The objective was to expose the potential of using plants for the preparation of cosmetics and the panorama about the reuse of organic waste for the same purpose. For this, an integrative literature review was carried out, using the databases: SciELO and Virtual Health Library, using the descriptors: Cosmeticos "Cosmetics" "Productos cosmeticos"; Reaproveitamento “Reuse” “Reutilizar”; Residuos orgânicos “Organic waste” “Residuo orgânico”; Tecnologia "Technology" “Tecnologia”, combined using the Boolean operator "AND". The period of publications was restricted between 2015 to 2020, using studies found in Portuguese, English and Spanish. The use of plant material in cosmetic formulations is promising from the identification of phytochemicals in plant material, which are responsible for therapeutic activities, positive stability and acceptability tests, and physicochemical accordingly, which lead to the incorporation of this type of material , which can be made from plant extracts or plant organs in their fresh or processed state. In this perspective, the use of organic residues presents itself as a therapeutically safe alternative, given the presence of phytochemicals even after processing, and economically viable for the application of materials that would be discarded in the environment.
