The photo- and thermal cis-trans isomerization of [23](4,4′)azobenzenophane

Abstract The cis-trans isomerization of the title compound in methanol has been investigated kinetically by HPLC, confirming the existence of relatively stable four isomers and giving the thermodynamic parameters of the isomerization among the isomers.
