Fabrication and Unidirectional Laser Emission Properties of Asymmetric Microdisks Based on Poly( p-phenylenevinylene) Derivative
2006
Asymmetric microdisks, such as spiral microdisks and spiral microdisks with waveguides based on a conducting polymer, have been fabricated on quartz substrates and their emission properties have been studied. The unidirectional red laser emission from the spiral microcavities based on a poly( p-phenylenevinylene) derivative has been observed by pulsed photopumping, and the dependence of laser properties on notch sizes and the effects of adding a waveguide to a spiral microdisk to form a laser output terminal have been discussed.
