This study was conducted to determine the programme preference motivations of preservice teachers of mentally disabled students. This study was a survey study, data was obtained from interview form. The sample of the study is 120 preservice teacher who enrolled at the department of mentally disabled individual education in 2012-2013 educational term at Bulent Ecevit University, Eregli Faculty of Education. As a result of the study, it was understood that pre-service teachers prefer this department as there are many job opportunities. Most of the preservice teachers stated that they don’t want to do masters degree in this field, they don’t think of changing their field of study. Besides, they stated that they mostly want to work in the state schools
