Effects of grain size distribution on flotation behavior of Jinning phosphate ore

Jinning phosphate ore in Yunnan is a finely disseminated ore due to its low grade,fine grain size and complexity in mineral composition and must be finely ground to facilitate its effective flotation.Fine grinding has led to a high percentage of fine grain particles,and causing difficulty in the beneficiation.To change this situation and improve the flotation performance of Jinning mid-low grade phosphate ore,the size-by-size flotation behavior of Jinning phosphate ore was analyzed through the size composition of the direct flotation products under various flotation conditions.It turns out that the flotation performance is vastly different between coarse and fine fractions.It seems that the traditional direct-reverse flotation process,which treats all size evenly,is a proper way to beneficiate by the sized flotation process Yunnan mid-low grade phosphate ore.
