Propylene polymer wax with high hardness and crystallinity

PURPOSE: To industrially find, provide, and produce a propylene polymer wax having high isotacticity and crystallinity. CONSTITUTION: Propylene optionally contg. up to 40 wt.% other 2-8C 1-alkane is subjected to a gas phase polymn. on a shaking fixed bed in the presence of 5-60 vol.% hydrogen by the Ziegler-Natta polymn. to give a polypropylene wax which has a Hoeppler hardness of 500-3,000, a crystallinity (determined from xylene-insolubles content) of 75-98 wt.%, an isotacticity of 70 wt.% or higher, and a wt. average mol.wt. of 5.000-100,000.
