Nanotechnology and Plant Tissue Culture

Nanotechnology is amongst one of the recent technologies of the twenty-first century. This technology has enabled the utilization of nanoparticles in various fields of sciences, not only physical sciences but natural sciences as well. Plant tissue culture is one of the leading technologies being used in agronomy for improvement of plants. It is also used for secondary metabolites production, germplasm conservation etc. Nanoparticles find their applications in plant tissue culture as disinfectants and as nutrients. Conservation of germplasm is a matter of great concern nowadays. The application of nanotechnology in conservation of plant germplasm has led to development of another useful aspect of nanotechnology.
