Though experiencing all kinds of hardships and diffculties,China’s private colleges and universities have made great contributions to the society in popularization of higher education,introduction of the university system,improvement of school-running effciency and promotion of social transform;meanwhile,their evolution has reflected the history and development of China’s higher education.Therefore,through the retrospection and introspection of the development of private colleges and universities in China,we may make it clear what causes the problems of China’s higher education in its goal,spirit and system,finding a better way out for its reform.
